The entire Berkeley Campus Fee is comprised of smaller campus-based fees. Each of these was voted on and approved by the UC Berkeley student body during a past election cycle.

  • Lower Sproul Fee


    Although it once went toward the construction of MLK and Eschleman Student Union, this fee now pays for some of the maintenance of those buildings.

  • Wellness Fee


    This fee goes toward RecSports, the University Health Center, and PATH2CARE. The discretionary portion of the fee funds other student organizations and campus departments each year.

    This covers the salaries and benefits of multiple staff positions at the University Health Center, and a few other services there.

  • Big C Fee


    This fee funds the Centers for Educational Justice and Community Engagement (EJCE). It also funds student organization projects that target underserved campus populations each year.

    The Life Safety fee funds projects that keep the architecture of campus spaces safe for students, such as building renovations and seismic retrofitting.

  • Basic Needs Fee


    This fee goes toward the Basic Needs department under the Divison of Equity and Inclusion. It funds services related to food, housing, and financial security for students in need.

  • GOLD Fee


    The GOLD Fee funds the Centers for Educational Equity and Excellence (CE3), which supports the success of non-traditional students at Berkeley. CE3 houses programs such as the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Transfer Student Center (TSC), and Student Parent Center (SPC).

  • TGIF Fee


    TGIF goes toward the Student Environmental Resource Center. The fee also supports the Green Initiative Fund, which distributes grants to projects that promote sustainability on campus.

    This fee supports the DailyCal, UC Berkeley's student-run newspaper.

  • Student Center Fee


    Once funding renovations to the Dining Commons in the Student Union Complex, the Student Center Fee now pays for some of the maintenace and operations of MLK and Eschleman.

    This fee goes towards the Ethnic Studies Department at UC Berkeley. Specifically, it funds the Ethnic Studies' 5th account, which distributes grants to student-initiated events for the Ethnic Studies Community.

    The ASUC Fee goes toward the undergraduate student government's internal budget, which includes senator stipends and ASUC chartered programs, as well as registered student organizations that apply through the ABSA application.
